Jumbo Shrimp vs. Biloxi
When: 6:35 p.m., Saturday
Where: Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville
Probable starters: Jordan Yamamoto (0-0, 3.00 ERA) vs. Marcos Diplan (0-0, 1.10 ERA)
Turning two: Joe Dunand drew a bases-loaded walk to score the winning run Thursday night as the Jumbo Shrimp ran their winning streak to six games with a 4-3 victory over Biloxi. Top prospect Monte Harrison hit a two-run home run — his 12th of the season — to tie the game in the seventh, setting up Dunand's late drama. Isan Diaz's eighth homer of the season was a solo shot in the fourth. The late comeback supported Nick Neidert, who did not earn a decision after allowing three runs on five hits with nine strikeouts over seven innings. Miguel Del Pozo (4-0) earned the win. Biloxi's Jon Perrin (0-1) took the loss.
Around the horn: Jeff Brigham's strong season was rewarded Friday when he was transferred from Jacksonville to Triple-A New Orleans. The right-handed starter was 4-1 with a 1.18 ERA in seven starts with the Jumbo Shrimp this season. The call-up was Brigham's first to the Triple-A level. In a corresponding move, left-handed reliever Scott Squier was transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. Squier had not allowed a run in nine innings of work in Jupiter. Additionally, Jumbo Shrimp outfielder Brian Miller was placed on the temporary inactive list to attend a wedding. Outfielder Braxton Lee was transferred from New Orleans to Jacksonville to fill his roster spot.
