Experienced offensive line returns for Indians, looking to return to state playoffs.

COACH: Chuck Dickinson, 20th season

2017 RECORD: 4-6

REGION: 2-4A

QUOTABLE:"We have all five of our offensive linemen back for this season so that's a big plus for us. Offensive line will be one of our strengths. We don't have much depth, but if we can stay away from injuries we could have some success this year."

STAR WATCH: Junior running back Ty Friedlin (636 yards rushing, 3 TDs, 1 receiving touchdown in 2017); senior lineman Dan Dodd (40 tackles); junior safety Andrew Cox (57 tackles, 1 interception).

NEW FACES: Sophomore Gage Stevens is expected to be the starting quarterback after last year's starter Adrien Ciena transferred to Bradford. Sophomore running back Sterling Roberts and sophomore running back/linebacker Kaleb Vojnovski are also expected to step up this season for the Indians.

BEST CASE: Keystone's experienced offensive line opens up big holes for Friedlin and the Indians defense plays well enough to make up for depth issues. The Indians beat Bradford and finish with only a couple of losses and advance back to the playoffs.

WORST CASE: The injury bug rears its ugly head and Stevens struggles as the full-time quarterback. Keystone finishes as a .500 team but doesn't make the playoffs on points this time around.

PREDICTION Beating Bradford and Crescent City will be a tough task as well as Hawthorne and The Villages. But like in 2017, Keystone Heights uses their offensive line to run over opponents and finishes with a 6-4 record, once again qualifying the Indians for the FHSAA state playoffs.

WHERE KEYSTONE HEIGHTS RANKS: The Indians are ranked 17th out of 21 teams in the Gainesville Sun preseason poll.
