The undercurrent of thought on Georgia’s game at LSU on Saturday is that the Bulldogs haven’t been in, ahem, a dogfight this season.

The Tigers may deliver that. But the Bulldogs are still too deep, especially on offense when compared to LSU, to let their guard down now.

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has played well in spots, perhaps better than anyone dare think. But he’s not UGA quarterback Jake Fromm and he doesn’t have the depth at running back.

On defense, Georgia has performed better than expected, given graduation losses. The game is at Tiger Stadium but the Dawgs have played in tough venues before.

Picks 6 likes Georgia, 27-20.

In other games (in which the spread is 10 points or less):

Texas A&M 17, South Carolina 13: Low-scoring but the Aggies are getting better every week.

Washington 24, Oregon 21: The Huskies will put this one away in the fourth quarter but Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert will make things interesting.

Central Florida 44, Memphis 28: The Knights continue their quest to upset the CFP applecart.

Miami 28, Virginia 17: The Cavaliers may make this interesting and have a letdown of sorts after beating Florida State last week. But talent will prevail.

Michigan 23, Wisconsin 16: The Wolverines are getting better every week.

Last week: 21-9 (.700).
