A day after Creekside won a second consecutive girls state swim title and finished third in the boys championships, the Knights took home a pair of third-place finishes at the Class 3A state cross country championships in Tallahassee.

Ashlyn Iliff (18:23.9) and Claire Openshaw (18:28.1) finished 10th and 11th at Apalachee Regional Park to lead the Knights girls, while three Creekside boys finished among the top 50.

Four St. Johns County teams finished among the top 10 in the 3A boys race with Bartram Trail fifth, Nease seventh and Ponte Vedra 10th.

Five county teams were ranked among the top 10 in the state entering the postseason, but only four teams advance out of districts with St. Augustine finishing fifth.

Nease's Justin Tackling finished ninth overall in the Class 3A boys 5K race with a time of 16:14.5. Panthers teammate Harrison Rheinhardt was 23rd at 16:36.4.

Jahari White led Bartram Trail with a 15th-place finish at 16:22.8. Parker Romero led Ponte Vedra at 16:37.8 to finish in 27th place. St. Augustine's Parker Woodruff, running as an indiviudal, finished 28th at 16:40.2.

Jesse Benavides led the Knights with a 39th-place finish at 16:45.0.

Miami Belen Jesuit won the boys title with 35 points as Belen's Javier Vento (15:40.0) and Adam Magoulas (15:42.0) finished first and second overall. Tallahassee Chiles finished second at 170, Creekside third at 203, Bartram fifth at 214, Nease seventh at 230 and Ponte Vedra 10th at 248.

On the girls side, Chiles finished first with 45 points and Seminole Osceola was second with 94 points, followed by Creekside (111). St. Augustine also finished among the top 10 teams at eighth place with 279 points. Ponte Vedra was 14th with 356 points.

In addition to Iliff and Openshaw, Creekside's Blake Petrick was 22nd at 19:30.8 and Megan Graser was 31st at 19:46.1. Madison Niederriter led the Yellow Jackets with a 37th-place finish (19:56.4). Ponte Vedra's Lauren Bing was 54th (20:26.1).

St. Joseph finished 10th in the Class 1A boys team standings with 297 points. Mount Dora Christian won the 1A title with 84 points with Gabriel Curtis winning the individual title at 15:52.8.

David Gonzalez led the Flashes with a 26th-place finish in 17:07.3.
