The Falcons are under first-year coach Martin McCann

Daytona State head men's basketball coach Martin McCann is off and running.

Just over a month after replacing former coach Brock Morris, McCann announced his 2019-20 recruiting class on Wednesday, which included six transfers and seven incoming freshmen.

“I am beyond excited to welcome these thirteen young men to Daytona State," said McCann, who left Palm Beach State for DSC in June. "They will set the foundation for our program moving forward and will be excellent representatives of our institution."

This year's class includes players from two different countries — 6-10 forward Alex Kotov (Russia) and forward Adong Makuoi (Canada) — plus guard Issad Solano of Puerto Rico and a pair of former athletes from Daytona Beach's DME Sports Academy in guards Jacob Tracey and Damerius Wash. McCann also managed to add 7-foot center Marcus Hopkins, who was a second team all-conference player with him at Palm Beach State last season.
