The PGA of America will add Derek Sprague and Davis Love III to its Hall of Fame.
TPC Sawgrass general manager Derek Sprague will be in select company.
Sprague will be inducted into the PGA of America Hall of Fame on Nov. 5 at the organization's annual meeting in West Palm Beach, joining two-time Players Championship winner Davis Love III of St. Simons Island, Ga., Dave Marr II, Annika Sorenstam, Shirley Spork and equipment designer Karsten Solheim.
Love, Sorenstam and Solheim are already in the World Golf Hall of Fame. Spork is a founding member of the LPGA and Solheim created the Ping brand of golf clubs.
Sprague has been the TPC general manager since 2017 and helped transition The Players Championship from May to March last year. He was the PGA of America president from 2014-16 and helped create the PGA Junior League and offered the organization's services through its club and teaching professionals in launching Augusta National's Drive, Chip and Putt competition.
Sprague also chaired the U.S. Ryder Cup Task Force.
Love, who has won 21 PGA Tour titles, including the 1992 and 2003 Players Championships, is the son of PGA teaching pro Davis Love Jr., who was the lead instructor at the Golf Digest Schools at Sea Island.
Love later won the 1997 PGA, becoming the ninth son of a PGA pro to win that major championship. He has played on six Ryder Cups and has been the captain twice. The U.S. won in 2016, his second turn with the captaincy.
Love is the host for the RSM Classic, the PGA Tour's fall event at the Sea Island Club. This year's tournament is Nov. 14-17.
