Outlook: The Sharks stand just one match away from their second state championship match in three seasons. They’re getting superb volleyball from Logan Mignerey (38 kills and .392 hitting percentage in the playoffs) and Zeta Washington (34 kills and .386 hitting percentage in the playoffs, 285 kills for the season), fighting back from early deficits and building a seven-match winning streak. They’ll confront a formidable obstacle in the Pirates and 6-2 middle blocker Azyah Dailey (262 kills, 100 blocks), at the heart of Port Charlotte’s six-match winning run. The record doesn’t tell the whole story for Port Charlotte, which has confronted an elite schedule with opponents as distant as Chicago. The winner advances to the state championship against Ocala Vanguard or Barron Collier, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers.
