Tom D’Angelo’s Top 25 ballot for the Associated Press has LSU, Ohio State, Clemson as the top 3, Alabama dropping to No 4 and Minnesota in the top 10. The Tide, though, will have a tough time maintaining playoff position without playing in the SEC title game.

Two of my top four teams lost Saturday meaning we have a shakeup. LSU and Ohio State remain in the top 2 spots with Clemson replacing Alabama at No. 3. I moved the Tide down one spot to No. 4 just ahead of Georgia because it has the best loss in the country, although the Bulldogs can make a case because of wins over Notre Dame and Florida. But a bad home loss to South Carolina haunts Georgia.

Minnesota cracks the top 10, moving to No. 7, one spot ahead of Penn State. Although Alabama sits at No. 4, it will not have the luxury of a conference championship game at the end of the season to boost its resume which means Georgia, No. 6 Oregon, Minnesota, No. 8 Penn State and No. 9 Utah all remain in the playoff discussion. As does No. 10 Oklahoma.

Kansas State, San Diego State and Wake Forest are out this week replaced by Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.
