Here's a look at the 33 Polk County wrestlers who have advanced to the FHSAA State Wrestling Championships.


The tournament begins Friday and runs through Saturday at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.


Two-time defending state champion Lake Gibson leads the way with 12 qualifiers in Class 2A, including No. 1 ranked Ashton Habeil and Brendon Abdon. The Braves were also the Polk County champions in both the IBT and Duals formats.


Lakeland qualified one wrestler, Willie Lampkin, but he is also ranked No. 1 and undefeated this season. Kathleen qualified four wrestlers in 2A.


In 1A, McKeel Academy, which won district and regional titles, qualified seven wrestlers. The Wildcats also won district and regional titles in the Duals postseason.


Also in 1A, Tenoroc qualified six wrestlers and Mulberry two.


CLASS 3A


BARTOW


Colby Trudeau


Bartow, senior, 195-pound division, 35-8.


He was the District 2A-5 champion and Region 2 third-place finisher. He was unranked heading into regionals.


CLASS 2A


LAKELAND


Willie Lampkin


Lakeland, senior, 285-pound division, 43-0.


He is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A and was the 3A state runner-up last year at 285. He was the Region 2A-2, District 6 and county champion this year.


LAKE GIBSON


Hayden Whidden


Lake Gibson, freshman, 106-pound division, 27-4.


He was the Region 2A-2 and District 6 runner-up and county champion this year. He was ranked No. 3 heading into the regionals.


Jesse Gehr


Lake Gibson, senior, 113-pound division, 36-6.


He was the Region 2A-2, District 6 and county champion and ranked No. 5 heading into regionals. He was a sixth-place medalist at the 2019 state finals.


Brendon Abdon


Lake Gibson, sophomore, 138-pound division, 38-3.


He was the Region 2A-2, District 2 and Polk County champion this year and the 2A 132-pound state runner-up in 2018.


Raul Soto


Lake Gibson, junior, 160-pound division, 30-8.


He was the Region 2A-2, District 2 and county champion. He was ranked sixth in the state heading into regionals.


Ashton Habeil


Lake Gibson, senior, 182-pound division, 31-1.


He is ranked No. 1 in the state and is a two-time state champion. He was the 182 state third-place winner last year and has won five state medals during his career. He finished third at Ironman. He is the Region 2A-2 and District 2 champion.


Caden Cunningham


Lake Gibson, senior, 195-pound division, 27-4.


He is ranked No. 2 in the state and won the Region 2A-2 and District 2 championships. He was a fifth-place state medal last year and signed as a preferred walk-on to play football at Florida State University.


Alex Walker


Lake Gibson, sophomore, 120-pound division, 31-11


He was the regional runner-up, District 6 and Polk County champion this year. He was ranked ninth heading into regionals.


Connor Williams


Lake Gibson, senior, 126-pound champion, 28-6.


He is a former state champion and last year finished as the 126-pound state runner-up. He holds three state finals medals. He was the District 2A-6 champion and Region 2 runner-up. He was ranked second in the state coming into regionals.


Alex Rosario


Lake Gibson, senior, 132-pound division, 30-7.


He is the District 2A-2 and Polk County champion and Region 2 runner-up. He was ranked third in the state heading into regionals.


Tristan Middlebrook


Lake Gibson, junior, 220-pound division, 30-9.


He was the Region 2A-2 runner-up, District 2 and county champion and ranked fourth in the state heading into regionals.


Evan Butler


Lake Gibson, senior, 145-pound division, 34-6.


He was the District 2A-2 champion and Region 2 third-place medalist. He was ranked second in the state heading into regionals.


Frank Solorzano


Lake Gibson, freshman, 152-pound division, 24-10.


He was the District 2A-2 runner-up and finished third at the Region 2 meet. He was also the county champion. He was ranked fifth coming into regionals.

He was the Region 2A-2, District 2 and 182-pound county runner-up.

He was the District 1A-11 champion, third-place finisher at the Region 3 meet and county runner-up. He was ranked 16th in the state heading into regionals.

He was the District 1A-11 champion, Region 3 third-place finisher and Polk County runner-up. He was ranked 10th in the state coming into regionals.
