LAKELAND -- Pembroke Pines Charter couldn't hit a 3-point shot Thursday and it didn't make much difference.

The top-ranked Jaguars (26-2) did enough of everything else to reach the Class 5A final with an 81-71 semifinal win over Naples.

Guard Dallas Graziani scored 29 points and 6-foot-6 forward Amarachi Ujagbor had 20 points for Pembroke Pines Charter, which will play Tallahassee Rickards in Saturday afternoon's 5A championship game at the RP Funding Center.

The senior duo combined for 13 straight Jaguar points in the fourth quarter to help Pembroke Pines turn back a Naples rally. Graziani made all 15 of his free throws and the team made 26 of 29.

"Every team has those games where you can't a shot so you have to find other way," said Graziani. "I think we did that well."

The Jaguars made only 1 of 16 shots from behind the arc.

"Our ability to keep our composure and find different ways to sore, other than threes, that was the key."

Another key was defense.

Naples (24-7) shot 31 percent through the fist three quarters and 35 percent for the game.

"If we put the ball in the basket, that's a different game," said Naples coach Garrett Hull.

"We shot 30 percent and were able to stay in that game. I think that says a lot about our boys."

Javen Flowers-Smith scored 15 points for Pembroke Pines and made the team's only 3-pointer of the game.

Coach Dave Roca said the Jaguars' ability to score 81 points with the aid of only one 3-pointer spoke volumes.

"This tam's going to find a way to win games," he said. "They understand the game within the game, and they play according to what the defense is. Today we got a lot of free throws and we made them."

Bryntley Theork led Naples (24-7) with 17 points and seven rebounds. Tony Green added 16 points for the Golden Eagles.
