Ponte Vedra's 23-game winning streak ended on Thursday afternoon in Baltimore in a battle of nationally ranked teams.


No. 24 Ponte Vedra (6-1) was tied with No. 22 Gilman 2-all after the first quarter, but the Greyhounds took a 5-3 advantage into halftime.


Sophomore Noah Parlette mad a series of saves in goal to help the Sharks stay in the game in the second half.


The Sharks will conclude their two-game excursion in Maryland on Saturday in Baltimore with a contest against No. 7 Boys Latin.

Creekside senior Imani Graham cruised to an 8-0 win in No. 1 singles over A.J. Tabora on Wednesday. Molly Wannamaker, Aiswara Pawar, Taylor Reid and Caroline Warner also won singles matches for Creekside.

Creekside's Rohan Bongu won his No. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-2 over Sebatian Thomay on Wednesay. Creekside's Aryan Gupta, Andrew Ferris and Francisco Orochena also won their matches 6-2, 6-2. In No. 5 singles Rohit Bongu defeated Drew Ammon 6-2, 6-4.


SOFTBALL


Bartram Trail 9, Providence 2


The Bears (4-1) responded from their first loss of the season with a convincing home win on Wednesday night. Maegan O'Brien (3 for 4) scored three runs. Emma Morris (2 for 4) clubbed six RBIs while pitcher Madisyn Eads was 2 for 3 at the plate and held the Stallions to four hits in the circle. Eads struck out eight to improve to 4-1.
